In the UK, the Musicians Union and Ivors Academy are continuing work on their joint campaign to address what it sees as fundamental inequalities in the music streaming economy.
Following the launch of a petition that attracted more than 17,000 public signatures, a government inquiry began and expert testimonies have been heard from some of the country’s leading songwriters including Guy Garvey, Fiona Bevan and Nile Rodgers. Other renown artists such as Jimmy Page have also added to the debate.
The Musicians Union website recently produce an update of all the work done so far on the #FixStreaming campaign along with a list of media resources for what they describe as “defining moment for our industry”.
