On 9 November, Sara Forslund’s new album “Summer is like a Swallow” will become Sweden’s first Fair Trade Music International certified release.

Sara Forslund was born in a small village called Borgvattnet in the northern part of Sweden and has performed as far afield as England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand. Her debut album “Water Became Wild” was released by Volkoren in 2015 to wide acclaim and was included on several best of 2015 lists including Rocklist Music’s Albums of the year and Nordic Music Review’s Favourite Albums of 2015.

Recording of “Summer is like a Swallow” began in August 2016 where Forslund reconnected with Nick Drakes producer and sound engineer, John Wood who also co-produced the album. Other collaborators included two-time Grammy nominee, Johan Eckeborn, and renown Swedish vocalist, Gustaf Spetz.

Fair Trade Music International welcomes Sara Forslund. We look forward to other Swedish music creators joining the movement towards a sustainable and equitable music economy.
